So the Conroe Independent School District (CISD) wants me to vote YES, and sign a promissory note for a debt burden of $807,000,000?\u00a0 That I have to pay of with a huge increase in my property taxes?\u00a0 That will cost me and the taxpayers $1.3 BILLION in interest alone, over the next 20 years?<\/p>\n

Well, I was gonna vote NO, but then I found out that $23 MILLION is to go for Astro-Turf for football fields, I just knew I had to vote YES!\u00a0 C\u2019mon, people, don\u2019t you want stadiums and football teams our student body can be proud of?\u00a0 What is your problem?<\/p>\n

And another $24 MILLION for \u201csafety and security\u201d \u2013 even though they admit they don\u2019t know how or where they will spend it yet \u2013 it\u2019s just a wish list \u2013 I mean, OMG!\u00a0 If it saves the life of just one child, we have to have it, right?<\/u><\/strong>\u00a0 What are you, some kind of a terrorist?\u00a0 You want our children to die?<\/p>\n

\"\"I didn\u2019t see how much of a raise our Superintendent would get, but I hope it\u2019s a big one.\u00a0 After all, he\u2019s worked so hard to get the district into more debt than any other school district in Texas, and he\u2019s not through yet!\u00a0 Just you wait!<\/p>\n

Oh, I know, it\u2019s against the law for schools to campaign or lobby or be advocates for any election, but CISD has always done it<\/u>, so we have precedent, right?<\/p>\n

They already employ the largest voting bloc in the district, and if they can sucker the parents into voting YES, then that\u2019s a whole lot slicker than using a gun, you have to admit.\u00a0 Just use the power of the courts and constabulary and the Tax Appraisal District to redistribute the wealth for them!<\/p>\n

Okay, so your property taxes are going up 61%.\u00a0 What are you complaining about?\u00a0 Don\u2019t you know that \u201ctaxes are the price we pay for living in a FREE society?\u201d\u00a0 What kind of a maroon are you, anyway?<\/p>\n

The next thing I expect to be hearing is that you expect students know how to read and write when they graduate, and \u201cknow stuff.\u201d\u00a0 Some people would complain if you hung\u2019em with a new rope.<\/p>\n

Just vote YES, and we\u2019ll find out what\u2019s in it, all in due time.\u00a0 If you don\u2019t like it, you can always move somewhere else.\u00a0 Good golly, Miss Molly.<\/p>\n
